Many of the shelters that Safe Hounds Beagle Rescue works with are located in rural, economically depressed areas. These public animal control facilities are often under funded, under staffed and over crowded. Despite these daunting conditions, the employees and volunteers at these shelters are caring and compassionate people who do their best to avoid euthanizing any adoptable pet and work hard to find each one a loving, permanent home. The trouble is space at these facilities is very limited and with a constant intake of stray, abused, injured and abandoned animals they often have no choice. In our ongoing effort to help make a difference in the lives of some of the most desperate shelter pets, we offer a glimpse at just a few of the hundreds of adoptable animals that are desperately waiting to find a forever home.

If you are interested in learning more about any of the featured pets below, simply click on the photo to visit the pet's Petfinder page and contact the shelter directly. Please don’t wait--many of them are already on borrowed time! Be sure to inquire about veterinary services available (often at reduced rates) and transport assistance.
