Volunteer Opportunities

As an all-volunteer organization, Safe Hounds Beagle Rescue is always in need of dedicated and caring people to assist in various capacities so that we can continue our mission to save abandoned, neglected, and stray Beagles, attend to their indivdual needs, and place them in loving, permanent homes. There are numerous opportunities for individuals to help. Some involve contact with the dogs, and others don't. We have volunteer opportunities to suit almost everyone! No previous volunteer experience or special skills are needed. All that is required is the desire to help us make a difference in the lives of some very deserving dogs! Here are just a few examples of some of the areas we need volunteers to help out:

  • Public Relations: flyers, ads, media contact, signage, etc.
  • Newsletter: write articles, publish quarterly newsletter
  • Fundraising: plan and coordinate various programs and fundraiser events
  • Telephone: return phone calls, contact references, adoption follow up-calls
  • Events: man a table, distribute information, sell merchandise
  • Fostering: provide temporary in-home care for a puppy/dog
  • Transportation: pickup dogs from van transport, drive dogs to/from vet appointments, etc.
  • Adoption Day: dog handling, man our table, assist with set up and tear down
  • Dog Care: training, walking/exercising, grooming, and socializing dogs
  • Photography: shoot photos/videos of adoptable dogs, take pictures at events, etc.

Your information will be reviewed and a volunteer coordinator will contact you about opportunities that would match your schedule, talents, and interests and discuss how you can help us by becoming involved.
